Day two in Paris!
After a tedious metro journey ( the line we were taking closed mid way there, so we had to transfer four extra times to get to where we were going) we arrives at the entrance to the Catacombs. Then we followed the queue around and around and around and around until we found the end. We ended up waiting for TWO hours to get in. 20 meters under the ground it holds home to over 300 km of underground tunnels and the bones from million people! Elaine says " don't touch them!"
It was pretty creepy but also kinda cool!
From here we headed to the Lourve, and luckily we heard about getting the tickets from the Virgin store so we could cut to the front of the line! Even still it was crazy busy with people everywhere and was pretty overwhelming and exhausting! I downloaded a Lourve top 100 App for my phone which was actually pretty useful as told us about some of the more famous statues and paintings! We saw the Mona Lisa ( through about 100 people!) the Venus de Milo. In the end we saw the paintings, statues, and the Egyptian section. After that we were totally beat so went out to the nice grass outside for a good ol paris nap! Haha
Later in the evening we went to the Eiffel tower- we arrived Right in the hour and were surprised to find it lit up with sparkly flashing lights! Pretty tacky but they stopped after 10 minutes and then it looked very pretty! :-)
