Before leaving the crater we decided to try what is called shaved ice. It is flavoured ice and quite a lot of it. The flavours are selected. It was much better than I thought it was going to be. Tomorrow morning we leave Hawaii for Los Angeles and on Monday morning collect our last Campervan for our coastal drive to San Francisco.

Being a Saturday the narrow walk was crowded with people. This photo is down to Waikiki Beach, with Honolulu behind it then the airport and Pearl Harbour behind that. Once back down be the sea we had a swim. The waves were of a moderate size.

We have walked about 12 miles today. We decided to walk to this extinct volcano today knowing the views would be good. There is a tunnel into the crater where the start of the walk up begins. The top is nearly 800ft above sea level. The military here have used the prominence of this location for over 100 years.

Here we are having our evening meal by Waikiki Beach. I decided it was time to look like a local.

One these battleships was Arizona. It still lies where it was destroyed with only bits above sea level as seen on the photo from the viewing gallery built over it. Over 500 men perished on the ship and they are still on board within the ship as it has been too dangerous to remove them. Any survivors of the ship can have their ashes put on the ship by specialist divers.
