I think I'm starting to get used to these early starts now! We had to get to the meeting point for 7am and have come to the conclusion that Thai people don't have any concept of time or organisation!
After nearly getting put on the wrong trip with lods of Chinease people we finally got under way on our 3 hour journey to Erawan National Park. It is a seven tiered waterfall over a distance of 1.5km where the first 3 tiers were really easy to climb. Before reaching the top we stopped to paddle our feet in the crystal clear water before heading onto the mamouth task of the 7th tier. To get there we even had to do a small bit of rock climbing and jumping.
But out of all the people on our trip we were the only ones that made it 2 the top :) as we chose to wear the right footware for the job! Compared to the 2 hours that it took to climb up we were back at the bottom within 45mins where we smashed into some sweet and sour chicken and rice! A meal well earnt!
We then made a short journey to the bridge over the River Kwai, also known as the death railway bridge. The bridge was built by the Prisoners of war during WWII. It is believed that over 7,000 POW died during the construction of the bridge due to the difficult terrain! (One person for each sleeper laid in the track)...We only got to spend 15mins here, just enough time to take a picture, yet again due to the typical Thai organisation skills!
After a long day we went back to our hotel to pick up our bags so that we could move to another hotel for 1 night. We eventually got a cab that knew where our new hotel was and as we got out the other end we realised that we were one bag lighter! Oppps! :( But luckily nothing that we can't live without!
As this was our last night in Bangkok before heading to Koh Sumui in the morning we had one last traditional thing to go and see on our list....a ping pong show! For anybody that doesn't know what this involves, put it this way I wouldn't take a look on youtube, although it was very funny the ending has scarred us both for life!
+ 4x achey legs
+ 4x mosquito bites
+ 1x less bag of clothes
+ 10x ping pong balls
+ 1x cigar
+ 2x darts
+ 1x flying banana
+ Our first taste of real Crab meat for dinner
See you in Koh Sumui!

Dad ...sad to say two of my old cycling club mates (much older than me) were pow's at the Bridge. So good to see you are taking Daniel's advice and leaving stuff behind - he meant over here in England though!! Sarah, I hope you didn't smoke the cigar! love to you both, dad
