This is the land of the Damara San. A hardy and self-sufficent people reduced to their current way of life by one colonist's policy or another. Under their own independent government's land re-distribution program they are slowly getting, at least, some of their land back. And what stunningly beautiful land it is! If Sesriem and Sossusvlei were beautiful, then this was outstanding.

With the sun setting, and still no sign of our destination seeming to get any closer, we spotted "Doro !Nawas" conservancy campsite.It was just us, our trusty white bomber and billions of stars speckling the ink black skys! A fire built and a beer in hand and nothing but the sound of the bush! Bliss!
