So today was most certainly up there with the best days so far!! After seeing the elephants poorly treated on the trek, we wanted to see them in a more natural environment. We booked a day at Elephant Nature Park which is an organisation that rescues orphans/ elephants that have been badly treated.
Our day began by feeding them. They eat so much- even more than Samuel!! We then went to meet some of them. They are so calm and friendly ...until you get too close, like one lady did later on in the day, and was gently reminded just how powerful they are!
We also got to help bath them (chuck loads of water at them) which surprisingly they loved. We also took at a trip to the 'elephant clinic' to meet one of the older elephants who had to have an abscess removed :( Oh and we also passed the elephant pedicure place!
We then fed them again.. And again! Oh and got to meet the cutest baby elephant as you can see in the pics :)
We learnt so much about them, they are amazing creatures and so well treated. Would deffo recommend going if you ever come to Chiang Mai!
