So today was most certainly up there with the best days so far!! After seeing the elephants poorly treated on the trek, we wanted to see them in a more natural environment. We returned to Chiang Mai from Pai on Thursday. Our ride back was not as fun as our ride there. We didn't stop as much so our backs and bums were very sore but on the plus side it only took 3.5hrs rather than the 6 hrs it had taken to get to there. The Jungle Trek - be prepared it's a long one! We were picked up from our guesthouse around 9am in basically a pick up truck with benches in the back and a little roof on top- they're everywhere in the north! The sleeper train was a success, 15hrs hours went so quick, unlike our flights out to Asia! You'll see in the pics exactly what it looked like so no point boring you with too many details. We arrived in Chiang Mai at 10am as scheduled and our transfer to our guesthouse awaited us. Having stayed in a relatively nice hotel(£30 per night) it was a little bit of a shock when we rocked up to Bens guesthouse(£5 per night) that would be our home for the next 2 nights...
