DAY 1
So after nearly 27 hrs of travel we landed in Bangkok at 3am, checked in and hit the sack!
We woke about 10 am, quick spruce up and headed out. After being asked 116 times whether I wanted a suit or we wanted a tuk tuk, we found some where for breakfast. Poached egg and toast was what we ordered, soft boiled egg on the side of the plate and toast is what we got. With no mum to peel the shell off breakfast was a chore!
We then climbed a board a tuk tuk and the madness began, apparently there's no Highway Code in Bangkok! We visited lots of wats (temples), receiving good luck from each (apparently).
Thai people are very friendly and we got filled in on all of Thailand's history throughout our tuk tuk experience!
For dinner we hit up one of the street food stalls, chicken pad Thai (chicken stir fry), choc pancake, all washed down with a cold Chang..oh ye jazz drinks beer now! All for £2 each!!
DAY 2
After realising we were not going to get a hostel in Ayutthaya for the night (which was the original plan) we decided we would head straight for Chiang Mai and visit the other places on our way back through to Bangkok. Much to my disgust (Jazz), we got up early to book a sleeper train which we have got to look forward to tonight (15 hours long!!!) We then experienced our first Thai massages which was half hour of trying not to laugh whilst we were being jumped on by small Thai people. Samuel described it as being beaten for half an hour. To calm down after this, we are now sat in a lovely little bar drinking beer and coconut milk from a whole coconut.. Hard life! Stay tuned, peace out!
