We are now in the beautiful Mount, where we are hoping to spend our summer! We already had Mt Maunganui in mind and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We found a perfect campsite to stay at, just below the mount itself which we have been using as our gym most days. We are also literally on the beach and have been able to see the most beautiful sunrises which we missed in Wanaka! It's been pretty crazy trying to find work and a place to live before we ru...

Sorry for the late blog. It's been a busy week but here it is... Rotorua was definitely the smelliest place we have ever been but also the most unique! Due to there being a volcano under Rotorua (which scared me a little), the place is filled with geothermal activity and bubbling mud pools... It also smells of egg due to all the sulphur! It was quite surreal just wandering around and seeing water bubbling through the pavement and steam appearing to come from now...

We left Wellington on Monday morning and headed for Taupo. On the way we stopped off at Ohakune which is mainly a ski town for the biggest ski area in NZ. They are also know for their carrots (with a famous giant statue of a carrot as you drive in) so we had to have a break for some carrot cake which was YUM!! We then continued on to Taupo. It took much longer than it should have as unfortunately we took our first wrong turn... Which resulted in our first drivin...

We spent a lovely activity packed few days in the capital. We were lucky to have a friend there, Ellie, who doubled up as a host and fab tour guide. The ferry journey itself was beautiful as to get out of Picton you sail through Marlborough Sound, the biggest of all the sounds. We definitely couldn't have fitted any more into the three days we were there... Lots of walking, sightseeing and eating mainly. Ellie likes her food as much as us so she took us to all ...

On Monday we had to say bye to our Woofing family. It was a great first experience so we were sad to leave! However we were going to begin the 4 day Abel Tasman walk and it was a beautiful day so was the perfect day to start it. The first day we only had to walk 12km ish so it was pretty cruisy. It was however our first experience having to carry our big backpacks for that long with 4 days worth of supplies and camping equipment... So that took a little gettin...
