Nothing much to report on our last day in Phu Quoc! Unfortunately our plans of discovering another beach were ruined when the rain hit hard for the day. Instead, most of the day was spent taking cover in a bar playing cards with Sam and Clare. We had the whole place to ourselves and the ladies were hilarious so it wasn't so bad.
The next morning we set off early and arrived to Sihanoukville about 6pm. The journey itself wasn't very long, however there was a lot of waiting around.. Including the hour we had to wait at the border and several minivan changes!
When we arrived it took a few attempts before we managed to get a room somewhere. It was a last resort but has turned out to be the best place we could have stayed! Cute little bungalows and the best bar with the best food, drinks and music!
After checking in, we got some food in the bar and I (Jazz) had my first cider since being in Asia so I was in my element whilst also listening to great music. We explored the area and ended up having a drink on the beach. Unfortunately there is a lot of poverty so there were a few beggars but also the cutest and most hilarious Cambodian kids selling bracelets, fireworks and lanterns. We did buy a few bracelets off one boy who didn't give up. Another 12 year old boy trying to sell us fireworks challenged Samuel to a game of pool... If he one, we had to pay a dollar for the firework... If Samuel won, he would give us one for free. Of course the boy was a pro and whipped Samuel! We gave him the dollar but passed on the firework!
Throughout the night we had been given various free drinks vouchers so we ended our night with a few free drinks and of course a dance off between the dance king and queen, Samuel and Clare. We were already so in love with this place!!!!
Today we headed to Otres beach where we found ourselves some sun beds and topped up the tans. The sea was literally like a bath! Early afternoon the rain set in so we took cover in some hammocks under shelter. We soon realised the rain wasn't going to give in today so jumped in a tuk-tuk and headed back to our area for some food. Tonight they have live music in the bar so should be a good night! Pics to come of this incredible place :) x
