We arrived in London on Wednesday night and spent the next two days exploring. On Thursday we joined a free tour where we saw Buckingham Palace, changing of the guard, Westminster Abbey and Parliament. We then walked along the Thames to the Tower Bridge. On Friday we spent the morning at the Tower of London and the afternoon checking out Greenich. It was amazing to see all of these famous places in real life.
On Saturday we travelled by coach to Bath. Bath was a nice city and of course we visited the Roman Baths. Unfortunately for us there was no accommodation so we took a bus to Bristol. For some odd reason there was no accommodation in Bristol either so we stayed in the bus station til 2am when we could catch a bus to Cardiff. We spent the rest of the night at the Cardiff bus station. A few other people had the same idea - other tourists and people waiting for early morning buses. We were amazed to see people out and sleeping in the streets at 3am. The streets were literally covered in litter. It wasn't until the morning that we discovered there had been a Wales vs England rugby match and that Wales had won.
We managed to stay awake most of Sunday. Cardiff has a fantastic museum and castle that we looked at. There was a kids medieval show at the castle which was interesting and put on a really good falconry show. A traditional roast dinner and then it was time for sleep at our nice hotel. Today we catch the train to Swansea where we will spend the day before getting the ferry across to Cork, Ireland.
