Arrived in Gisborne on New Years Eve and didnt have anywhere to stay! i stored my bag and s*** in a storage room at a hostel for $15 and went to the festival! A guy i met had no ticket so, becasue i had printed a spare of my ticket just in case i lost one, i gave him my spare to try after i had walked in. He blagged it in for free and gave me $60, so i ended up in the festival for half price, sweet as!! It was soo packed, and in the middle of Vine fields, so plenty of room! It was like a little maze with different stages at different corners of the maze! As i walked in over a huge hill, you could see the main stage and some of the other stages. and right next to me was a budget slide they had dug out dwwn the hill and covered with tar-palling! so took of my clothes and had a go! only did it once becasue i cut my back to bits when i did it! All good fun! I spnet time with a group of gauys and gals i met on the bus to the festival! they were all cool and wondered with me to all the satages to check them out so we could chose where to stay for the count down! not suprizingly we chose the main stage! On the stroke of New Years fire works were lit and displays were shown on stage, it was awesome! guys in crazy light suits did some real cool dancing which looked amazing, while the DJ was still playing! and girls on ropes, next to the stage, were perfomring crazt stunts! i left the festival at about 7.30 the next morning, didnt sleep on the beach like planned. i went back to a hostel with some guy who let me in and i splet for a few hours on the sofa! A very very good New Years for me!! im back in Rotorua now to some more acvtivities and then move on! x
