From Auckland i took my first trip on the Kiwi Eperience bus up to Paihia in the bay of island. The Bay of Islands is an incredible place, its got calm seas, beautiful scenery and lots to do! i stayed in a hostel called 'the Bay Adventurer' hostel! Met some really cool people who i hope to meet in the new year. The first activity i did was a days fishing trip. The boat took us on a short tour around a few of the hundreds o islands in the bay the stopped off at certain locations, i can only remember one of the spots he called Wale rock. we had simple tackle and were fishing to Snapper!! Me and some guys, neil and rob, from the kiwi experience teamed up and caught s*** loads of Snapper and a Travely, which the man filleted for us and we had on the bbq with some white wine back at the hostel. Sweet as! The nexy day i went on a trip up to Cape Reinga via the 90 mile beach! ths was such a good trip, perfect weather and amazing scenery and cool places. we stopped off to look at the famouse kiwi Kauri tree, which is the 2nd biggest tree in the world, and like most of the kiwi say 'its all about gurth!' On the 90 mile beach we stopped to look at the hole in the rock. That was pretty sweet, then, nearby we went to the massive sand dunes to ride them on body boards! It took all my effort to get to the top and half way down a wiped out and got buried in an avalanche of sand, got pissed off and didn't go for a second attempt lol! after this, lunch and a swim! then off to Cape Reinga. This a really spiritual place with a lighthosue! its is the Most northerly point of New Zealand and where the Tasman sea and the Pacific Ocean meet also. the nexy few days i spent chillin and lady thrillin ha ha! i got the bus back to Auckland, where im spending x-mas. x x
