Lazy start, did some washing, then set off for York to drop our car off for the extra key, and caught the bus into York. Is such a lovely old city. We had a picnic lunch at the foot of Cliffords tower - used the jetboil for the first time! The kids clambered on the hillside - not allowed now but reminded me of doing it as a child. Took the girls up to the tower where they could dress up in olde worldwide princess costumes, which Emily enjoyed. Fabulous view from the top. Girls insisted on riding the merry-go-round then off to the Jorvik Viking museum. Much the same aa I remember but a bit more high-tech with cable car type transport and more scenes. Very enjoyable. Walked the shambles up to the top of town to find a model shop for Malcolm's present. Back to pick up the car, then we all went over to Laura and Mark's for a Chinese dinner. Lovely house with a nice, warm feel. Loads of toys so the kids had fun! Very enjoyable.
