After poor Jason's early morning run back to the car dealership to fix our original key, we set off around 10am, saying goodbye to Brenda, Malcolm and Yorkshire.
We had a steady run to Harwich, stopping to stock up at a Tesco Extra (where I stupidly left my card) before getting to the ferry port and boarding just before 5pm. Was very exciting to be getting on a boat bound for our adventures! And to be leaving the UK for the first time. We found our cabin - very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. Four beds (2 folding down from the wall) and felix on the floor. We went exploring, not much of a kids area, and had dinner at the buffet restaurant. Loads of fabulous seafood - prawns, mussels and salmon galore. Loads of pickled seafood, and things in sauces. Yum. Kids not so well behaved at dinner. Taken off to bed afterwards. I spent the evening calling natwest and Claire trying to organise a new bank card...
