I was exhausted this morning so Jason took the kids to breakfast while I had a lie in. Poor guy got all their food sorted from the buffet then Meg needed the loo so he had to take all 3, only to come back and find they'd cleared all the plates! He looked so distraught that a staff member noticed and helped him get everyone's good a second time.
Came back to cabin to put felix down and little megsy still under the weather with her cough so she came back to bed with me and had a sleep. Jason and em went exploring on the ship, to the deck and em participated in the kids activities. Bless her, she won the hula hoop competition against much older kids managing 12 rotations!! Apparently while everybody else tried to hula the hoop, she just spun it and stood there! Clever thing, she won a soft toy wizard and was so pleased. We docked at 1 pm and drive onto European soil at Ebsjberg and set off across Denmark to our hotel outside Copenhagen. Fairly flat countryside, nothing too remarkable as we motorwayed the whole way. Just remembering to drive on the right side! Everything very neat. Felix amazing and girls ensconced in the rear watching dvd's. Arrived at the hotel around 5 - clean and utilitarian - reminded me of the Formula 1 hotels in France. Decided to drive into Copenhagen an go to Tivoli for the evening. Found it easily and paid a huge amount for the girls to have unlimited rides and for 1 adult to accompany them. Entry was about 600 DKK! Thought we'd be able to find some easy adventure park type dinner but all was sit down restaurants and so pricey. Ended up at a burger bar where 2 burgers, chicken wings, chips and onion rings cost around £50! After dinner the girls and us began a mad and excited rush around going on every ride we could. Not sure who was more excited, us or them! It was lovely to see them so thrilled. They did ferris wheel, mining cart in the water, airplanes up in the sky, train rollercoaster, hans christian andersen fairy tale ride, car driving, etc! We were surprised that meg was allowed on all of them. Jason took them on a rollercoaster that turned out to be really fast and even the unflappable meg wanted it to stop! Jason was worried about her but also concerned for Emily who was sitting next to a rather portly man so the safety bar was not tight on her and she was flung around a bit! I took felix back to the car while j and the girls stayed a bit longer. Tivoli looked lovely at night, all lit up. There was a ballet performance on one stage. Would be nice to spend longer there. Super fun evening :-)

Lucy Tivoli is gorgeous... contemplating wandering through with Dan when we are there in December (without kids) as it will be all lit up for Christmas and is very special. But yes, Denmark is markedly expensive. Glad you enjoyed Tivoli though. Rides are very suited to the littlies.
