Sally's Camino
Day 12 - 1/4 of way! Taking the bus again today boohoo BUT big news, I have developed some gluts! Was doing rotation arm swings yesterday and hit something hard behind me - new muscles!
So arrived in Santo Domingo 3 hrs ahead of the perigrinos - the old town was deserted, cold and windy. I wore my polyprops, my trousers and my waterproof pants. Finally found a little sunny Plaza and had a sleep :).
Fish soup for lunch with Jeff and his Spanish mate Ivan (Eevaan) then plodded to 6 kms to Granon to the bestest Albergue - it is upstairs at the back of a church, all wood and mattresses on the floor in the attic above over looking a huge dining table and chairs around a fire.

Jane in China Sounds like it's very cold most of the time - was that what you expected? Or was it supposed to have warmed up by now? Glad to hear how you're going :-)
sallygrimmett No Jane we expected cold over the Pyrenees but thought it would warm up a bit. Actually has got colder via wind chill. But we noticed in many photos in the Camino books we read that people were wearing jackets and long pants. Think it's the wind that does it. We are Ok - we have the right gear :)
J again Good-oh :-) Just catching up on your blog... internet wasn't good enough the last few days. Impressed with your progress!
