Nancy and Narta had a massive screaming fit with each other today, was crazy. After they calmed down Laura found a magazine and gave it to Narta who flicked through it, commenting in Pinjari on the phtos of celebraties. I would love to know what she was thinking and saying, I tried to tell her Brad Pitt was yummy.
We made damper bread! When the Aboriginies were in the desert, they would collect the grain and grind it to make flour. They would then add water and need it, making damper bread, which they would cover in ash and coals as they never had metal to cook in.
We asked Mrs.Porter if she could show us how to make it. She grabbed the ingredients, sat on the flour and began to mix the flour and water. Was amazing to watch someting she has probably shown a few generations of women.
Chris and Kit picked out a painting for me to say thank you for my hard owrk, which was completely unexpected. I felt lucky enough to be around these people, let alone get a painting by a true Aboriginal artist!
I said goodbye to the ladies and Mrs.Porter suggested she was sad and would think of me. Was lovely, she gave me a big hug and stroked my hand. The ladies all let me have photos with them, and Mrs.Bennet began to sing and chant. Laura and I did a little dancing, and they laughed at how strange we looked.
Such an absolutely amazing experience. Cant believe I have been so lucky.
