Goodbye Australia!!!
We can't believe that out time in Oz has come to an end already!!! Over the past few days we have been on a whirlwind tour of the Northern Territory and Melbourne. We flew up to Alice Springs to be greeted by 38 degree sunshine...a bit of a shock after all the rain we have been experiencing. After touring the town, we blew the budget and went for a nice meal of Kangaroo, before an early start at 6am the following day to Ayers rock.
After wandering around Mount Olga and Mount Conner (which looks like across between table mountain and Ayers rock) we headed for the beast itself only to discover that we wasn't allowed to climb it due to expected rain. However, after talking to the tour guys realized that hardly anyone gets to climb it as they now have so many rules (wind, rain, temperatures over 35, summer etc). So after sulking for a while and looking at what the climb would have entailed we decided that it was probably for the best-we know how clumsy sally is!
Then we watched the sunset whilst enjoying a bbq and champagne (oh and Baz proposed, but I'm sure you're all bored with that by now ) before heading back to Alice Springs for our early morning flight to Melbourne.
Thus, the last few days have been exploring Melbourne with Chris and family- a mix of wine (well if you can call passion pop wine) exploring, sightseeing and hunting for penguins on Phillip island... and after being fattened up by Robyn are set for the next chapter of our bogus adventure.
Oh, nearly forgot... we went to Ramsey Street and the official Neighbours Night meeting Paul Robinson, Irish Connor and Summer... we had a great night as the photos show!!
Take care... x
