Evening all,
Well here we are getting ready to move on...again! Talk about the littlest hobo.
Having spent the last five days running around Sydney trying to fit everything in, we're quite glad to have a sit down and update our blog.
We did the overnight bus to Sydney and was a little disheartened at the outskirts of Sydney (we wondered what Julie had been raving on about!) but soon saw the Harbour bridge and after driving over it couldn't help but let out a little squeal (or that noise could have come from Baz-we're not sure).
So, after dumping our bags we headed off for a better look and a wander around The Rocks! A place that considered as one of the founding locations for the settlers...or so we have been told. Its like a step back in time, but very nice and has good food!
The following day we got up early with a mission to fit in Manly before our 3pm climb of Sydney Habour Bridge. So after a short ferry journey we arrived at the sleepy seaside town to discover the surfing championships were on and more importantly the VW campervan convention...yeay!!! After dragging Sally away, we caught the ferry back and got suited and botted for the big climb. Sexy overalls... will upload!
The climb took around 2 hours to reach the summit with plenty of long breaks to take in the fabulous views (and recover!). Don't worry Mum, we were perfectly safe... too safe in fact!!
Sunday saw us walk from the famous Bondi beach to Coogee beach, another 6km walk Sally was thrilled to discover! But the ice cream made up for it. Alas, no sign of any Sweet Chilli Chicken Sandwiches though...
The Blue Mountains awaited us Monday, starting off great with our hippy driver turning up 30 mins late and parked on the wrong road!!! Despite this odd start, and more walking and hundreds of steps being involved, the day was brilliant especially the train back up the mountain which had a 52% incline. The driver who clearly didn't care about the itinerary took us for beers at a great lookout at the end of the day...before a full on pub crawl later that night.
Other news, TV here is awful, therefore we are loving the i'm a celebrity updates... especially about poo lady! we are just gutted that we are missing what sounds like a good series! Baz is on series 2 of Mighty Boosh... and watched almost all the ipod videos...
In our next update, we will have hopefully done Ayers Rock (based on Tiger Airways!) and met up with Chris (Who now has a job!)
Byeeeeeeee!
