Tonight was Chelsey's 21st birthday, which I guess is the equivalent to our 18th back home. She went for dinner with her boyfriend so me and a couple of other girls (Leah, Sima and Hannah) went for Mexican. Afterwards we heard that everyone was going to a place in downtown Greensboro called the Speakeasy Tavern. This was a hilarious place. It was all wooden and designed like a barn and everyone in their had the thick southern drool of North Carolina. We sat out the back with a can of beer which cost "2 bucks" and played some strange game which apparently all Americans play - often before football games etc. it was called corn hole and the aim of the game is to throw your bag of corn across and get it in the hole on the plank of wood opposite you. Your team mate on the opposite side has to try and get their corn into the hole next to you. It's pretty simple but was pretty fun so I might set one up in the garden at home ;) all the while we had country music blaring out and I suddenly felt very authentically southern American. Afterwards, we went next door to a bar/club called Buckhead Saloon! This was equally American and hilarious. We drank some disgusting whisky mix shots and had a dance downstairs until some gigantic sweaty American came over and tried to dance with us all. It was certainly an experience going clubbing with Jews! Anyway we left by midnight to make it back in time for curfew - unfortunately didn't get time to go to cookout though!
