A couple of hours later we arrived in DC at the campsite. It seemed pretty okay to be fair, we had wifi, a pool, and a nice little pitch and after seeing a wedding (photographs were being taken on the backdrop of some power lines) I thought it can't be bad. The tents were fairly big and I even managed to bag my own tent while everyone else shared! That evening we headed for a quick tour of Washington by night and saw some of the monuments including the Washington monument and reflective pool. The next day we wandered round DC by ourselves and went to see the Whitehouse, Capitol building, smithsonian museum of American history (saw the real ruby slippers and largest diamond in the world!) and the museum of natural history where night at the museum was filmed! It was our groups turn to cook dinner when we got back so we had cheesy pasta and chicken with broccoli and all went for a swim. It was a nice evening and got to know the girls better while we all sat and had a chat in the hottub! It was good night until we woke up soaking wet in the morning because of the rain...
