Today we caught the ferry that was opposite the hotel. After
great discussions we decided to go down the river rather than up and the town
selected was Boppard…for no other reason than it was a medium sized town that we
didn’t see when we were on the firework cruise.
Of course the trip gave us some time to enjoy some more German
beer. We also enjoyed the Rhine riverside – the wineries, the castles and the
riverside villages. So much more spectacular when cruising past than in any
pictures.
Once at Boppard, we opted for the train with wheels tour. Stan
was still trying to perfect his selfies.
The highlight of the day was still sitting on the balcony of
the hotel watching the activities of the river. I've never seen such a fast
flowing, busy river. It was also wonderful to watch the sun set over Catz Castle.
Luckily for us Stan had purchased a very special knife for cutting the cheese, meats and baguettes we had bought in a little shop in Sankt Goar. Stan's knife cost a fortune - but had wonderful fish carvings on it!!! Our venture into the
