Today was our big adventure up to the land of ice and snow. An opportunity to wear our warm coats. They have taken up valuable real estate in the cases and not used since the trip to Sydney airport. We travelled from Luzern to Interlaken via the panaramic Golden Pass train. The views were amazing. We were surrounded by mountains. The train itself was great. Our carriage or wagon had windows that were uninterupted into the roof. Stan loved the restaurant carriage as he could drink beer and eat pretzels whilst enjoying the view. The only complaint I had of the restaurant carriage is we had to walk over a very narrow, unsafe looking joiner between the wagons.On...

Today we had an amazing trip up the mountain. We did what is called the Golden Round Trip. First we took a 90 minute ferry trip to Alpnachstad. We passed multiple small towns in amonst the mountains. Even saw Stan's town called Stanstad! Next was the cog wheel train. These trains travel very fast on the steepest incline you can imagine. Where the mountain was just too steep they just went through the mountain.After the cog wheel train we walked up to the top....

We left the car and mum at Konstanz and embarked upon the train travel leg of the tour. No one in Switzerland has asked to see our passports. We have decided it is just an extension of germany. 74% of people in Switzerland have german as their mother tongue, whereas only 21% have french. English does not ever register. The 3rd language is Italian and the fourth official lnguage is Romanish. (Based on Latin). Our hotel is on the river. Very nice
