We travelled from Luzern to Interlaken via the panaramic Golden Pass train. The views were amazing. We were surrounded by mountains. The train itself was great. Our carriage or wagon had windows that were uninterupted into the roof. Stan loved the restaurant carriage as he could drink beer and eat pretzels whilst enjoying the view. The only complaint I had of the restaurant carriage is we had to walk over a very narrow, unsafe looking joiner between the wagons.
On arriving to Interlaken, I suffered my first disappointment with my internet organised holiday. The website of the hotel I thought I booked at shared the page with another hotel. We, of course, were in the not so flash section. Where we ended up is OK. The room is very good but the view and lack of internet is the room is disappointing.
Interlaken the city is not much to write about either. It is definately a place you only visit to go to the surrounding mountains. The city has non of the atmosphere or history we enjoyed in other towns. I read many people recomending if you visit the region to stay in one of the small villages in the mountains. I would agree.
