Today we took the train from Amsterdam to Paris. A very easy trip. A taxi picked us up from La Festa and we settled into our 1st class seats after only a little confusion about where to catch the train. Stan as usual, couldn't function until he'd eaten, so we were little more rushed than Mum and Dave, as they had wisely had breakfast before checking out of the hotel.

The first class ticket for this train includes a meal and some drinks so it is worth the extra price.

Once we arrived in Paris, Stan found a cab and before long we were at our hotel. We left Mum and Dave at the hotel and we wandered off to solve the mysteries that have been with us since our last visit in 2001. We think we found the hotel we stayed in, we found Stan's all time favourite restaurant - Charlot - but the Frau Frau bar was nowhere to be found. We also worked out the De Clichy Places, Rues and Boulevards and enjoyed a lovely wine with cheese plater at Le Vert Tulipe

For dinner we went back to the seafood restaurant. I thought the waiter was rude and the food was overpriced - but Stan was in heaven.

Turned out mum and Dave were more energetic than us and had climbed all the steps from Montemartre up to the Sacre Coeur. Not bad for a couple of OAPs.
