After a few days in the sun we were appearing a little 'sun-kissed' so thought it would be smart to delay tubing and opt for a sensible day in the shade. Woke up early and headed off to the main road to catch a bus to Tayrona National Park. You have the option to take a jeep to the first site which saves you a 50 minute walk but we decided to be hardcore and walk it. Luckily it was early and shaded so it wasn't too hot...we got to where the jeeps drop you off and carried on walking. After having breakfast in our hostel at Santa Marta we headed into town, walking through the markets (which were rather smelly!) to find our bus. After the crazy evening we had our first real sleep in not really wanting to face the heat of the day. We spent another day enjoying the fruits of La Brisa Loca with the lovely pool, great food and comfy hammocks. On our small venture out we could see nothing open on Sundays anyway - assuming it's a religious/family day for Colombians.
