In the afternoon we managed to complete 3 sights of Cali with no real planning. We took a taxi to a local park, which turned out to be where a cute old church (Iglesia de San Antonio) was perched high on a hill looking out over the city. On our wander back to the hotel we came across a popular river-side park with lots of decorated cat statues, this gold one was probably the most simple of some unusual quirky artwork. In the morning we took a taxi out to the Cali Zoo, braving the screaming children on a Sunday :). We had read it was one of the best in South America but still didn't know quite what to expect of the enclosures.
