Woke up early and headed off to the main road to catch a bus to Tayrona National Park. You have the option to take a jeep to the first site which saves you a 50 minute walk but we decided to be hardcore and walk it. Luckily it was early and shaded so it wasn't too hot...we got to where the jeeps drop you off and carried on walking. After a very hot and sweaty 1hr 10 minute walk we got to the first campsite where we sat and had some water to try and cool down! This beach was called Areciffes but you couldn't swim there as the current was so strong it was too dangerous. We walked about another 20 minutes to the next small bay where there were people swimming but decided to carry on to the next beach called La Piscina which was a bit bigger and people were snorkelling. I wasn't feeling to great at this point so I sat in the shade whilst Aimee hiked on to the next bay called Cabo San Juan which took another 20 minutes. There were supposed to be monkeys in the park but we didn't see any, we did see lots of lizards, birds and some cool crabs. We decided not to stay the night in the park so we started the trek back to the entrance. A long, hot walk with an ice lolly to try and cool us down and we made it back and got the jeep to the road where we headed back to Costeño.
