We took at taxi to the Botanical Garden. The grounds were nice, very green with many ponds but bustling with hundreds of school children. We went through a lovely greenhouse area containing some interesting flowers and plants. We made our way back into town, braving the packed jolty city buses to get back to La Candelaria area. After another stressful time in Caracas airport we decided to miss our flight to Merida and see if we could get a flight out to Colombia. We found a flight later that day and decided to book the tickets and hope. With low expectations we went to check in online and there was our details - WE WERE GOING TO COLOMBIA!!
