Well goodbye Sydney! It's been a brief but memorable relationship and who knows we may even get back together sometime. Yesterday was a bit more cultural with a trip to the local zoo via a cable car which was fun and then off to the Darlinghurst theatre to see 'a paris letter' which was all about living life by being true to yourself and making the most of things. Yesterday was a bit of a strange one. My hopes of getting a ticket to the just announced kylie anti tour while I'm in Melbourne were dashed when they sold out....immediately! Thankfully kylie responded by announcing two further dates so I can try again tomorrow when I arrive in ayres rock. Today Derek and I set off for a day trip to the blue mountains, about a 2 hour train ride away from sydney. Some beautiful sights even though it wasn't very sunny. Although that didn't bother me too much as I'm still nursing some sunburn from the super strong Ozzie sunshine! After the excesses of Mari gras, it was nice to have a lie in to let the hang over recede before Derek and I went to coogee beach. Sydney being full of surprises meant a small bus ride from the large American style city centre took us to a Victorian style English seaside resort - complete with fish (a tasty new zealand variety) and chips! In the evening I met up with a nice young man called Kurt and the following morning we took a ferry into town passing nearby ...

The pride parade was great, really long with a nice community feel, the exception being the glitzy google float, even the rain didn't spoil the atmosphere. Chatting to a young Austrian back packer in the crowd, as you do, rumours were going wild that kylie would appear in the parade but instead it was a group of kylie impersonators!
