Ruthie's Travels
After stopping off for a couple more nights in Bangkok (ko San Road area this time)..we headed south to the south coast of Thailand to a popular holiday destination called Hua Hin. This place was recomended to us from other people as it (apparently) is where the King of Thailand goes on holiday and is very popular with Thais and Golfers from all over the world.
I liked this place..although a little on the costly side for the average back packer (probibly because it's a resort sort of place). There were fantastic night markets - though not as good as Chang Mai, every type of food imaginable and the people here seemed really freindly. Whilst playing pool..a game i'm getting quite good at now! Me and my sisters got all over exited at a picture on the wall of 'The Royal Dornoch golf club' for those who arn't aware, Dornoch is a we village on the north east coast of scotland with a cathedral we have all been chrisened in (mum and dad were married there) and all our grand parents live there. We have visited Dornoch on average of twice a year since birth and now our parents live there we consider it home..so weird how you can get so nostalgic about a place when your so far away!!
On our last night we had to check out at 12.00 and kill time till 10 when our coach was supposed to collect us to take us to SuratThani so we saw a Caberet which was so cheesy it was entertaining and we had to run through a thunder storm back to the guesthouse to collect our bags for the coach which was over 2hours late (ek!)
