It's been a while since I have done any "blogging" so I have some things to catch up on. After my first night camping in Bourg Agentile I made my way to the bike shop owned by a Frenchman I met at the Isle of Man. He did not k ow I was coming and was a little surprised to see me. Christophe is a friendly bloke who had ties in Australia and was happy to let me work on my bike in his shop. He organized for me to stay at another couples house. Nico and Marg have been hosting me in their homes and treated me with amazing hospitality. They speak good English and I speak horrible French so it is not a problem for me to communicate with them. My typical day for the last week goes as follows. Get up at 8. Have a coffee at the house or at a cafe in the village of Maclas. Ride the motorcycle to Bourg Argentile and meet Chrisoph at his workshop. Check on the status of parts. If there are no parts then I give him a hand with stuff at the shop weather it's putting a new head cylinder on a scooter or a exhaust on a dirt bike. Go for a ride through the hills. Back to the shop for lunch. Doors close for lunch at mid-day and stay that way till 2. During this time the French lunch of bread, wine, beer, salad, some kind of meat, fruit and cheese gets consumed. All washed down with an espresso. Good living. After lunch it's back to work or a ride depending on wine quantities . Leave the shop at 6/7 and head to dinner after a quick beer. Dinner is a repeat of lunch except it can last twice as long and twice the amount can be consumed. All capped off with a strong digestive drink. So I am still here in France. I head tomorrow down "Route Napoleon" toward Nice where Christophe has organized for me to stay with his mate for the night. I have seen and enjoyed heaps of things in this part of France. My experiences have been made all the richer by my association with these new friends. The bike is fixed and I am ready to move on to my next adventure.
