Set out this morn without much fuss from Slovenia headed south to Croatia. Took the smaller roads and glad I did. Apart from the campervans on the road it was pure pleasure. Broke all the speed limits and loved it. Finally got the new rubber ground down on the edges if the tires. The best money I ever spent was on the headset for my phone/GPS. Nothing worse than having to stop the bike all the time to look at a map. For those of you who say "oh! Really! Don't you think that detracts from the adventure of the trip?", you can shove it. You have never ridden a motorcycle in a country that speaks a different language (most words formed by the letters J,L,I and C) on the wrong side of the road with dubious driving practices going on all around you. So....I made it to this island after a quick ferry ride and quickly made my way to reception where I was asked if i was going to stay in the nude section or was I textile! Tempted as I was, I made the best choice for everyone. I'm getting pretty quick at knocking this tent up and then headed to the beach. All white pebbles. The water was warm and clear. Like a postcard. Retired to the bar after a walk and scoffed down two large beers and headed for another swim. Fell asleep on the beach and woke up as everyone was migrating to dinner or wherever they head. Had a shower and went on the forage for a good meal. The mosquitos followed. Little b******s smashed me tonight. Worth it though. Just as I was getting annoyed with the bugs I heard a mechanical drone and, like the cavalry, a ute with a fog machine pumping out insecticide, cruised through the campsite. My hero. Found a place to have a meal. Only had one today and I am glad it was this one. Starter platter with local produce (jambon, anchovies cheese, olives etc) and a seasonal salad with goats cheese. That was enough right there but the main was ordered and I was not going to miss out on it if it was as good as that. I was not disappointed! Grilled squid tubes with a spinach and potato side. First rate. The waiter came and asked me if I wanted desert and I replied something like "you are joking? Right?". He laughed at me and I took an espresso. After another rum and coke at the beach bar I am ready to call it a day. Don't know where I will end up tomorrow yet? Somewhere not far out of Dubrovnik as I have to meet Sara in town at 11 on Saturday.
