Camped out the night we arrived in the south island in a DOC campsite (Department of Conservation) which are basic campsites in the 'wilderness', cheap and cheerful! We drank our hobbit beer and ate pies and quiches and apples!Very Hobbit like! got absolutley bitten to death by sandflies!! believe me they test your patience!! Matt had a little dip in the river nearby, I just put my feet in coz it was ice cold!

Other than that we had a cheap night in the tent!
