So we landed in Wellington, picked up the hire car and drove to Lower Hutt in the Hutt Valley.

Bought a cheap camouflage tent which was definately worth what we paid for it, so ended up sleeping in the car that night in the campsite!:) However, we did manage to fit in some Lord of the Rings locations before bedtime!

First off, Minas Tirith and Helms Deep, both filmed at a quarry, so we got a happy snap there!Then we found the spot where the fellowship got into the Elven boats along the River Anduin and where Aragorn was washed ashore after his fall off the cliff into the Rohan River, both filmed on the Hutt river!

So far, so good!

Tomorrow we ride to Isengard!
