Venice has its problems, the first floor of every building was closed because it was flooded. The tide can sometimes get so high the gondolas can't get under the bridges. But when you are there all those problems blow past you and all you can think about or see is the amazingness of Venice.
My family and I had a wonderful time in Venice and we walked a lot. They had great food and all day long we would walk the streets not even knowing where we were. One time we challenged ourselves to find our way back home with no map (or Google). We ended up back at the hotel after we gave up because after 1 hour of walking we were still lost. One morning I my sisters and I were in the kitchen of our little apartment and our parents were still in bed when I offered Annabella a banana and she responded, "one minute let me see if I'm constipated" as she stood up and went to the bathroom. Our parents heard it from their room and they were craking up. The five of us spent the next half of an hour laughing.
To get to Venice we went on a boat that took us to the half sunken city. We stayed in a hotel on the 3 floor (that was the only place it was safe). The streets in Venice were all brick and there were no cars. Cars were gondolas and roads were water.
We also celebrated Olivia's birthday in Venice. I gave her sunglasses with an awesome glasses case with a whole in the middle so its easier to hold and a special potable ping pong net that you can set up on any table. It also came with 2 ping pong paddles and 2 (ping pong) balls. Annabella gave her walki talkies, it was fun because we played with them all morning. And mommy and daddy gave Olivia a phone case that was really soft and had pink and white checkers and a few other things too. We had fun celebrating Olivia's birthday in Venice; it defiantly was a birthday to remember.
Venice is a dreamy place between the people driving the gondolas wearing black and white striped shirts and the lights in the night. It felt like I was in a painting because it was so unbelievably beautiful.
My family and I made many good memories in Venice and those memories I will hold with me forever. Venice is a beautiful place.
P.s. Venice also has really pretty bridges.
