The travel to Amalfi was a little hard and not so pleasant but it was well worth the ride because at the end was a beautiful island filled with lemons, with the most astounding view of the deep blue ocean. Venice has its problems, the first floor of every building was closed because it was flooded. The tide can sometimes get so high the gondolas can't get under the bridges.
