Cloudy white oh dear is that pollution mommy? I am in an airplane and about to land in Beijing. It's cool but very polluted. Pollution is unhealthy stuff in the environment. I really don't want to wear a mask but I am scared to get pollution in my body. When we got off the plane there was a guy waiting for us and he had a car but the car smelled like pollution had pollution in it and had no seatbelts but I was OK because I fell right asleep. We are staying in the very historic hotel. It used to be where the communist government had their office. The guy that was waiting for us had a car and he told us some things about Beijing. Even though the pollution I love Beijing and I think it has loads of history like… back in the days they had a chairman and his name was Mao and he made it very hard for china but really did help them this is how. He made the country communist that means everyone is equal. It doesn't matter if you were hard or not you get the same. People who were in school or rich lost a lot and were forced to give things up and not go to school. Some were even killed and their children taken away. The people who were poor were given a house and a job so their life got better. So some people's lives got better and some got worse. Much worse. They all even looked the same because they had to wear a uniform called a Mao suit. Some older people still where them today. Everyone was supposed to be equal but that didn't really happen because people in charge took more money. This is called corruption.
Tiananmen Square is very big and sadly I could not go in because there was a meeting going on but I saw police and army men!
I also learned that Tiananmen Square is where all the citizens go for the government to see them when they decide to start to protest. Every once in a while people die there like one time school students were killed because they protesting to be more free and the government put up with it for 7 weeks then said that was enough and killed them. Sadly, it's a very violent place everyone once in a while.
Next to it there is the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is red and it has a picture of Mao on the front. Mao is a chairman and he was the one who brought communism to China.
I saw a Kung Fu show and I learned that Kung Fu people really are not just doing all the karate chops and things like that to kill people or to harm they just do it to try to focus on themselves and Buddhism and fight to keep peace, sort of.
We didn't only see the show for entertainment we also got to see some amazing Kung Fu skills! One guy was getting held up by very sharp knifes.
And that show was really so cool and I just am so glad I went!
I am really scared about 1 thing and that is getting sick by drinking their sink water. The sink water is not good for you so I can't have…
Salads, ice, sink water
Or anything else with sink water in it. I even have to use bottled water to wash my toothbrush and to brush my teeth! The good thing is so far I have done well.
The next day I got in a car and drove an hour to the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China is very cool because a long time ago they used it to protect the country from war. It's so long that it's twice the size of American east to west! Of course we didn't go all the way around it that would take days! We only went like 2k but it felt like 5k because we took so many pictures that we were there for almost 2 hours! But I guess it is good that we have pictures for my scrapbook. When we got home I jumped right into the pool at our hotel I thought it was really fancy. We played Marco polo and I was it and had so much fun because we had the HUGE pool to our self! Then we finished went back to our room and had dinner then I fell right asleep.
