"HOLY MOLY! What is that! It looks so polluted that is not good at all!" That's what I thought in my head 30 minutes before we landed.
30 min-1hour later…
We meet the guide and she tells us that they are having a sandstorm and its not pollution and that was the happiest time in my life! But, that is not exactly the truth because sand doesn't smell like that. So we find out it is pollution mixed with sand and really poisonous and dangerous stuff that can get into your lungs and be stuck there. We need to wear a mask and stay indoors as much as we can. Then the next day we are doing our touring but only of things mostly indoors! First we went to a temple and the temple was really big but you can't go in to it. Then we went to a donut shop and got a donut then I went to the ……
TERRACOTTA WARRIORS!!! First we went to pit 1 then we saw a movie. The movie talks about why the emperor buried them with him (its actually kind of far from him but all part of his tomb). He did it so they would protect him in his afterlife and it worked because people that hated him came and destroyed a lot of the warriors but did not destroy his actually body or tomb. About 2000 years later some farmers trying to dig a well found them. We went to pit 2 and that one had at least 3000 warriors inside. Then we saw the last pit then set off for home. By that time it was getting dark and we had a long way home.
P.s. We bought a Terracotta Warrior and I got a small one for free.
Pss. They are really big!

DeeAnn Gautney Yikes! A sand and pollution storm -- I'm glad that you are all OK. The Warriors sound very cool. I can't wait to see yours when you return. Sending lots of hugs and kisses. Aunt DeeAnn
Gran Gautney Hi Rosie, I didn't know that they had sandstorms that were so dangerous. I'll bet you have heard many stories about the wars they have fought and the bravery of their soldiers. War has a great cost to both the individuals and the countries for which they fight! Love, Gran
