We arrived back in Hanoi and headed back to the same hotel. The city was a bit more lively as the main days of Tet had gone but some things still weren't open. We had an early dinner as we hadn't eaten all day, after a shower and rest Pete wanted another one so we went out for our second meal.
The following day we visited the museum. This again used to be a prison and was built by the French when they had control of Vietnam. It showed how they held Vietnamese prisoners in terrible conditions. It was also used during the "American War" and showed how the vietnamese held American prisoners of war and how well they looked after them. If you didn't know you would have thought that the USA were at war with Vietnam, not that the north and south were fighting and America jumped in, the propaganda was ridiculous.
We spent a lot of the day trying to find cafes and cakes and found a great street food stand in the evening for beef and noodles before catching our bus to Sapa.
