I was very impressed with the attention for less impact on the environment with staying at Yaw's - power / water usage, recycling etc.
Another large healthy breakfast then caught a train to the Miniatur Wunderland - world's largest model railway. There was a day and night simulation, 930 locomotives, 274 moving vehicles, flight simulation Knuffingen Airport with 40 planes, 335,000 lights, 215,000 figures, 46 computers, 15,000+ Metres of track length, 1,300sqm model area, 8 sections and 580,000 man hours.
We saw where they are building the Italian section then through to the numerous models. We "journeyed" from Scandinavia, throughout Germany to Austria, Switzerland and across to America.
We had lunch in their bistro, table seating with real train seats, 2 courses, Chris and I enjoyed a beer.
Afterwards we walked along the waterfront, cameras in hand, collected our luggage and caught a local train to Hamburg Central for our ICE Train to Berlin.
