We checked out of our accommodation and made our way by local bus to Copenhagen Central, Rod added to his mug collection and Rod and I had a coffee and scroll and changed our currency for Euros.
It was soon time to board our train to Hamburg, Germany.
The train is very comfortable and I am sitting next to Katrina from Hamburg. We quickly made our way into the countryside heading west, past islands, waterways and other stations. It was announced that our train would board a ferry for the crossing (approximately 10k). I became excited as I did not realize I would experience a Baltic Sea ferry crossing. The train boarded the ferry and we sailed within moments. For safety reasons we needed to leave the train, I did not need to be reminded as I was eager to explore the ferry. The three of us had lunch and a wicked black forest dessert, Rod had Italian wine and I quenched my thirst with a beer. The 45 minute crossing ended too quickly and we boarded our train in readiness to disembark. Within minutes we were on our way again speeding through farm crops and again saw paddocks of canola oil plants with bright yellow flowers.
We arrived at Hamburg Station, purchased a train ticket and made our way to our accommodation at Jugendherberge, Hamburg.
Check-in was easy and made our way to a great room with an ensuite. Freshened up, then lagers and red wine, dinner for Chris was curried sausages and Rod and I had vegetarian pizza. A great view over the harbour, we chatted and caught up with our blogs. Chris and Rod played floor chess and I sat outside watching the working harbour which is 50 metres away.
I am so relaxed.
