I have been to work in Knysna 4 times all for various lengths of time over the 3 years I have been in SA.
Knysna is a very touristy town which waterfront thrives on tourism. It is a small town as well which is easy to navigate and you easily start to find your way around. I was living in a house which overlooked the Knysna Lagoon and was a stunning big wooden house. Monkeys were frequent visitors to the house and one time I was watching TV and I could see a monkey in the kitchen with his hand in the bread basket so I had to chase it out of the house with a broom. They would frequently visit our house and steal oranges from the orange tree.
Knysna has got everything you need and is a very pretty town although not to much goes on and you soon get to know the locals fairly soon. I was setting up sports projects with the Knysna Sports School which is a great company for developing sports in the underprivileged community. I also managed to squeeze in a few games of squash here and there as well as joining a gym which was great. Around Knysna it is a very beautiful area and I managed to do a few trips away to various spots such as Platenburg Bay and Jeffrey's Bay which both have stunning beaches and nice small sea side towns.
