Hi everyone!!!
Our travel plans have changed. We are not going to bangkok now as its to dangerous so we think we are going to work our way up the west coast of malaysia and up into thailand. Hoping to visit the east coast of thailand but not sure yet. Still flying out of Singapore so will make our way back down, probably fly.
Kuala Lumpur has been great! We arrived during the day and as soon as we stepped outside the heat hit us, its very humid and sticky here. We got the train into the city and tried to follow the road signs to a hostel, got abit confused so we ask a guy and he was staying at the one we were looking for. He was oz and just said 'follow me mate' in the thickest accent ever! We walked in and it was liked a mini aquarium with tropical fish, turtiles and snakes. Luckily they had a room for us, bunk beds!!! were quite comfy and it was dead cheap.
We headed straight for the telecommunications tower and then to chinatown were stalls were selling tacky watches and clothing. There so so many food stands was great.
In the eve we headed to the market and had sizzling beef which smoked out our table and five tables around us hehehe and duck, was so yummy. Here we met a guy called John and his friend who were so funny. This street seller guy was selling nails which you had to separate and his facial expressions were hilarious, we were both crying with laughter dont think we have ever laughed so hard in our lives. Got pics of him to show you. Had a great night, the city def comes alive at night just like all the cities we have been to.
Headed back to our hostel to watch the chelsea vs arsenal game on the roof which was practically made out of beer cans.
Next morning we visted the main square and the city centre. We were absolutely exhausted by the end of the day as it took as ages to find places, as the street signs are rubbish. We found a bakery and we had the best doughnuts we have ever tasted :).
In the eve we went for a meal with Ben and Emma who were staying in the room opposite us. Had mutton curry and then a treated ourselves to a mc flurry! We went back to the city centre as the twin towers are all lit up at night.
We are getting the bus to butterworth today and heading up north. We are just hoping that nothing else goes wrong and that we can see everything we wanted to see. Both gutted about bangkok but def dont want to go anywhere near there at the mo.
Hope you are all ok.
Rich is trying to load up the rest of the pics now but it is taking so long.
