We woke and had a leisurely breakfast which seemed a novelty. First stop of the day was Loch Ard Gorge, where a ship veered off course and crashed into rocks by the Apoostles. Only 2 people of 56 survived. Now what struck me most was the engravings in the cliffs. Not 'Tracy was ere' or any of tha trubbish but the genuine engravings from the time of the wreck commemorating the dead lost att sea.
From the Gorge we wen to London Bridge, It is now an island as one section collapsed in 1990. now what amuses me most about this is tha fact that there was a couple stranded ion the archway (no.. i'm not that sadistic wait for the rest of the story) so the couple were airlifted off and as you can imagine there was a media frenzy. The couple were actually having an affair and wanted more than anything not to be on TV together. Well i can guess thay got busted but what a story to tell your step-grandchildren.
Now after luch etc (all the thing you need to stay alive) we tried to find wreck beach and I emphasise TRIED. We found it eventually and Gem wasn't best pleased about 366 steps to get down to the beach, but it was worth it as there are anchors and gearing from two sip wrecks, The Fiji and the Marie Gabrielle. Well it's not called ship wreck coast for nothing.
ok so sunsets here and after last nights disaster of penguin hunting, thought about going again but quite frankly the penguins can go duck themselves.
Gem's note: 366 steps there and back!!!!!!!
