To say this place has taken us by suprise is an understatment. We stopped because it was very fitting with the trip as it is the most southerly trip of mainland Australia. However, it has a lot more to offer with rocky peaks breaking into the sea leaving monolithic stone formations towering in white sands with crisp blue ocean washing over them and the sense that the rainforest has dominated these areas for a very long time. Looking out to sea there are hundereds of islands which at one time was a land bridge connected to Tasmania. It is a harsh yet beautiful place and a shame we only have one night.
The drive here was wet and we found out the trailer, for the best part, is waterproof. We are becoming experts at setting up and dismanteling camp and should be ready for a timed run soon. There is a chill in the air from the southern ocean so we may be in for a cold nigt.
Gem's note: This place was truly stunning and well worth the visit, where else do you get possum's watching you have a wee from the rafters of the toilets? Oh, and Mum, you'd be glad to know Rich's handywork on the trailer roof was successful...not one leak!
