Driving out of the National Park we both felt in good spirits, the actual drive was the same as going in but beautiful all the same. We had a close call on the petrol as it was 30k just to get out of the National Park...but we made it!
Now many of you would think Melbourne is on our itinerary but its not. So we drove to Sorrento to catch the Queenscliff ferry. Now the drive along the beach to Sorrento was scenic with turquoise waters and golden sands. Sorrento itself looked very Med in its styling and there were far too many ferraris there. So, the Ponda Rosa (new name for the van) fitted in elegantly.
The ferry ride was pretty spectacular but mainly was nice to have a break in driving and take in some scenery together.
Queenscliff seemed a quaint colonial town and there was a hot rod convention on so there was a lot of eye candy (sorry no photos). Then finally into Torquay which is, apparently, the real surfers paradise. Went surfing pretty unspectacularly, then in the evening met up with the Griswalds...sorry the Everetts who have just moved down that way. We spoiled ourselves with Fish and Chips.
Looking forward to starting the Great Ocean Road!
Gem's note: Surf shop paradise more like!
