Hey guys this is Ben.......in case your wondering ria got her dates wrong on the last entry ria was a day early silly girl!!! Anyway since the last update things have gone brilliant, once we got over our jet lag and the fact we'd been travelling non stop for the last few days we finally had time to sit back and relax!! We met a couple from NZ they advised us to go to a beach called 'Kata Beach' so off we went on this little bus open top like a van without its roof....ria wasnt impressed with the 'air con' so i gave her a reality check she quickly came round...this bus journey was about 40mins and cost 25baht practically nothing..we realise now thats because the locals use it and they don't have much.....didnt realise my duties involved lugging vegtables on and off this bus from local old women...maybe they should pay me to go on the bus!!! Anyway we've caught this bus everyday since there and back it's fun and the air con never fails!!...we arrived at the beach its stunning only 1/2 mile wide and great waves...100 baht for sun beds for both of us and cheap restaurants. 100 baht a meal.....ria didnt like waves i wonder why (frizz head)!! The more serious point to this adventure is the tsunami that happened 2 years ago, the place has been totally renovated and its hard to spot any areas that were affected..but people have stories that will never die they tell of family missing and loss of business and land to bigger fish. But there so grateful and polite for people returning and its a stunning place i advise anyone to go there they have cheap accomodation and very expensive hotels aswell. We've been on the beach a few days now and im looking like a greek god obviously and ria is looking like caspers cousin hehehe she's burning abit but getting there.. when where in the city she moans about the smell of the city streets and she thinks hand sanitiser and flip flops in the shower are the answer to this problem...shes a star!!!! Obviously the beach smells great!! The hostel we are staying at is first class very nice room staff very helper and very modern...big tv in common room with a good selection of dvds and free internet. The nightlife in the city is very quiet but the restaurants are very nice and walking around is very safe so where relaxing and saving beer money for our expedition that starts on the 30th Sept with 10 other people. Lastly we are going on a tour of local islands so we'll update soon pics etc. We love u and miss (some of u) loadsxx
