Today we drove to Bryce Lookout to check out the views of the Hoodoos (where the pic on this blog was taken). Then we went for a short walk through them via the Mossy Cave trail. Mossy cave itself wasn't too interesting but getting an alternative view of the hoodoos certainly was! There was also an amazing little waterfall and very few people, which is a bit of a miracle round here! We had s'mores this eve too, so yummy... For anyone who is not aware of this tast...

Today we arrived at Bryce Canyon National Park. It's a great place with fab views and weird rock formations known as hoodoos. We took in the scenic drive today stopping at tonnes of cool places on our way through the park. We saw deer and turkey vultures amongst the awesome scenery. This morning we got up early (around 6am) in order to get walking while it is still cool. We did the Angel's Landing walk which although isn't very long, it has claimed 6 lives since 2004!! This is due to the steep drop offs on either side of the ridge you walk along. There are chains provided for sections of the walk and a bit of scrambling is involved. Well, we arrived at Zion national park. It is quite simply stunning! The camp site is great and there are loads of cool things to do here. We did the Watchman trail this evening, on which we saw some mule deer, jays, and of course lots of lizards! We dipped our toes in the Virgin river which was responsible for the Zion canyon area. An early night calls as we have to be up super early tomorrow if we want to have a walk in anything less than 40oC heat!!
