This morning we decided to travel around the peninsula looking at the stunning scenery. At the end of a gravel track we saw a sign for Sand Fly Beach (name only) it stated it was as 2km walk down to the beach where you could see Sea Lions and penguins.
For some reason we decided this would be a good idea so we made our way to the waters edge where we met a very large Bull Sea Lion, we have some great pictures of him on camera but none we can down load at the moment.
The walk down took us about 20 mins may be slightly less. We spent around 45 minutes on the beach and then began the climb back up. Just after 90 minutes we reached the top, it was a really difficult climb and Jan didn't moan more than about 30 times.
We just had enough time for lunch and a cuppa before we drove in to Dunedin.
The train journey was excellent we had seats in the last car and actually stood outside on the rear of the train for part of the journey.
